**Job Summary**

BEAR Scotland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Installation Operative to join our North West Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for carrying out various road maintenance operations, including the erection and removal of temporary signs and barriers, hot material patching, excavation and installation of ducting, and installation of street lighting columns.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Work in a team of civils operatives to deliver a variety of trunk road schemes
  • Erect and remove temporary signs and barriers (permanent signs and barriers)
  • Carry out hot material patching by hand
  • Excavate and install ducting
  • Install street lighting columns together with associated cabling
  • Install and fix temporary/permanent road furniture
  • Operate power tools, small plant, and machinery
  • Drive HGV lorries
  • Prepare written returns, including fault report details
  • Ensure the health and safety of the public, colleagues, and yourself

**Requirements**

  • Experience of using small plant
  • Holding tickets for plant, traffic management, and Health and Safety an advantage
  • Full UK driving license preferably at LGV Class C level
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines and working under pressure
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Flexible to working practices
  • Ability to cope with change
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Good planning and organisational skills
