About the Role
Womble Bond Dickinson is seeking a skilled commercial lawyer to enhance our national commercial team. Our team integrates expertise from various sectors, including general commercial, digital, intellectual property, energy, renewables, and procurement. We represent a diverse portfolio of clients, including FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies, public sector entities, educational institutions, and industry organizations on significant projects and regulatory issues.
As a member of one of the largest and most accomplished teams in the sector, you will collaborate with specialists across multiple industries such as advanced manufacturing, life sciences, aerospace, defense, energy, logistics, and international trade. Our lawyers, recognized nationally for their expertise, are positioned across our UK offices and work closely with our US counterparts on international transactions.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will engage in a variety of contractual arrangements linked to strategic initiatives and daily operations across numerous industries. Our focus is particularly on advanced manufacturing, supporting businesses from major process plants to specialized life sciences supply chains. Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising on procurement and supply chain management.
- Assisting with product development and market entry strategies.
- Participating in energy transition and decarbonization projects.
- Contributing to productivity enhancement initiatives.
As part of our team, you will be involved in all facets of transactions and projects, including:
- Contract strategy development.
- Drafting and negotiating agreements.
- Providing insights on data protection, supported by our privacy experts.
- Managing risk effectively.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in commercial contracts, gained either at a prominent City firm or in-house. Experience with international clients, particularly in import and export, is advantageous. Familiarity with technology, intellectual property, and data protection is beneficial but not mandatory. Essential skills include:
