About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ward Manager to join our team at Priory Healthcare. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the highest standard of care for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the nursing staff, ensuring effective rota management and adherence to e-rostering standards.
  • Act as a role model, mentor, and leader, promoting a culture of learning, development, and professionalism.
  • Ensure that patients receive the highest standard of care, taking appropriate action to address any concerns or issues.
  • Lead on the recruitment and retention of staff, ensuring a skilled and motivated team.
  • Investigate and resolve clinical, HR, and patient complaints, ensuring thorough and timely resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative frameworks, including the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Deprivation of Liberties.
  • Oversee Medicines Management, ensuring that all Registered Nurses undergo competency-based assessments and that an open and transparent framework is in place for managing medicine errors.
Requirements
  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • At least 2 years' experience in a supervisory capacity within a relevant care setting.
  • Appropriate registration or experience required for the ward.
  • Willingness to complete further clinical, managerial, and leadership training and development.
