Job Title: Civil and Structural Engineer

Industry: Water, Energy, or Environmental Services

Type: Permanent

Location: Exeter/Midlands/North England (remote working with frequent visits to office and client sites)

Salary: £ dependant on experience

We are seeking a skilled Civil and Structural Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing and analysing civil structures, particularly within the water consultancy industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical design and analysis for new and existing steel and concrete structures using appropriate software and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to support project delivery.
  • Lead quality, sustainability, and safety initiatives throughout the design and asset lifecycle.
  • Assist in preparing project briefs, scopes of work, and bid proposals.
  • Manage time and budgets to meet project milestones and schedules.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Knowledge of structural engineering codes (Eurocodes, BSI, etc.).
  • Extensive experience in reinforced concrete (RC) design, including water and soil retaining structures and foundations.
  • Experience in the water/utilities sector is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in computational analysis techniques and software; knowledge of BIM is a plus.
  • Knowledge of construction techniques.
  • Experience in project and business management, including resource planning and fee estimation.
  • Understanding of cost and contract management is an advantage.
  • Client-facing with strong relationship-building skills.
