Geospatial Data Engineer Role at Forest Research

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to vital projects within the field of geospatial analysis, data engineering, and information technology. You will collaborate with a diverse team of experts, including data scientists, analysts, statisticians, mapping specialists, remote sensing professionals, and field data collection specialists.

The National Forest Inventory (NFI) program, part of the Centre for Inventory Forecasting & Operational Support (IFOS), plays a crucial role in monitoring the location, extent, and condition of woodlands across Great Britain. The NFI team provides essential forestry information, software, and services.

As a Geospatial Data Engineer, you will be involved in:

  • Processing and analyzing large datasets using geospatial tools and technologies
  • Creating maps, visualizations, and reports to communicate findings effectively
