Control and Instrumentation Technician

Your primary duties will involve the maintenance, repair, and installation of essential plant and equipment that ensures safety and supports production.

Compensation:
Approximately £35,000 (based on experience) plus allowances, leading to a gross salary typically exceeding £40,000 (including On-Call allowance and overtime).

Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading planned maintenance and troubleshooting for site control and instrumentation systems, including but not limited to pressure, flow, temperature, level, pneumatic systems, PLCs, and control systems.
- Working with Functional Safety systems, including Safety Integrated Systems (SIS) and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) equipment.
- Implementing safe work systems and instructions, demonstrating understanding, competence, and compliance with all relevant legislative and company standards within your area of responsibility.
- Exhibiting professional behaviors and effective communication with customers, stakeholders, and team members.
- Conducting technical investigations and generating reports to support modifications, abnormal events, or design reviews.
- Assisting with additional tasks such as installation, commissioning, and capital projects as needed.
- Potentially providing support for an On-Call Rota to maintain systems around the clock (with allowances for this work).


To qualify for this role, candidates must possess an engineering apprenticeship with a minimum NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in a relevant technical field or an NVQ/Diploma Level 2 along with industrial experience.

Applicants must be prepared to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the position and complete specific training to work in designated areas.
