We are seeking a qualified Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our Day Surgery Team at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the smooth operation of our ward.
Key Responsibilities- Provide pre and post-operative care to patients undergoing General Surgery, Urology, Dental, ENT, Orthopaedic, Gynaecology, Cardiology, Vascular and Breast Surgery, as well as acute surgical and trauma patients.
- Work as part of the multidisciplinary team, ensuring good two-way communication between nursing and medical staff.
- Maintain a high standard of patient care as Named Nurse.
- Be accountable for personal nursing practice having responsibility for nurse-led discharge of patients against set protocols.
- Act as mentor/assessor to students and Health Care Support Workers within the requirements of NMC.
- Undertake training as required in respect of the extended role i.e. intravenous cannulation, drug administration, venepuncture, male/female catheterisation.
