Job DescriptionVenesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation, is seeking an Electrical Inspector for a 6-month contract. This role will be a hybrid working model.
Key Responsibilities:- Carry out response-led and regular inspections of premises to determine work requirements, priorities, and costs, reporting to the Senior Inspector.
- Perform necessary repair works as part of the planned or non-planned maintenance programme.
- Conduct written annual inspections of electrical services for properties, providing recommendations and discussing with relevant team members as part of the asset management strategy.
- Respond to emergency requests for electrical repair work and arrange for remedial action to be taken to make safe the repair.
- Issue detailed repair instructions to internal and external contractors, check, agree, and verify submitted invoices prior to payment.
- Supervise the standard and timely completion of repair work and minor projects, ensuring value for money, quality, and best practice.
- Liaise with premise managers, translating their requirements or requests and discussing repair work, minor planned budgets, and other relevant issues affecting mechanical services.
- Have a working knowledge of energy management and plant control systems (BEMS) and conventional heat controls, identifying and reporting accordingly.
- Provide an electrical monitoring and inspection role on capital projects, allocated in accordance with capital project procedures.
- Take reasonable care for their own and others' health and safety, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and corporate and service health and safety policies.
- Carry out other responsibilities assigned by the Senior Inspector.
- Experience in the electrical services industry within the commercial services sector, preferably with practical site experience.
- Hold an appropriate construction/services-related HNC or equivalent.
- Knowledge of current and relevant legislation and codes of practice.
- Good communication and negotiating skills.
- Be mobile throughout the Council area.
- Contract management experience.
- A current driving licence.
- Membership of a relevant trade body.
- Additional relevant training and experience.
- Corporate membership.
- Knowledge of BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
- Proficient use of IT software such as CAFM systems, maintenance works ordering, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
