Position Overview
The UK Civil Service is seeking a dedicated Cybersecurity Compliance Officer to ensure adherence to cybersecurity protocols and policies. This role serves as the primary liaison for cybersecurity matters, providing essential support and assurance to senior management regarding compliance with established standards in information security.
This position is structured for a full-time commitment of 37 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be tasked with the following duties:
- Ensuring that all IT systems comply with relevant cybersecurity policies and frameworks.
- Acting as the first point of contact for cybersecurity inquiries and issues.
- Providing assurance to senior leadership regarding the effectiveness of cybersecurity measures.
- Overseeing the reporting and investigation of any security incidents.
- Developing operational procedures for new IT systems.
- Formulating and maintaining cybersecurity policies.
- Managing the cybersecurity of all non-centralized systems, ensuring accurate asset tracking.
- Overseeing the approval and management of portable media, including regular compliance checks.
- Offering security guidance to staff and users of IT systems.
- Collaborating with external contractors to ensure security is maintained during maintenance activities.
- Participating in the Secure by Design initiative to enhance system security from the outset.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of IT, cybersecurity, and information security principles. Willingness to engage in relevant training is essential, which may require temporary relocation.
