Assistant SENDCO

Job Title: Assistant SENDCO - SEND Support Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SEND Support Specialist to join our SEND Department team. The successful candidate will provide support to our students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and work closely with our teaching staff to ensure that all students receive the best possible education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide support to students with SEND, including those with physical, sensory, and learning disabilities
• Work closely with teaching staff to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEND
• Assist with the planning and delivery of lessons and activities to meet the needs of students with SEND
• Collaborate with other professionals, such as therapists and medical professionals, to ensure that students receive comprehensive support
• Monitor and report on student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness and making recommendations for future support

Requirements:

• Experience of working with students with SEND, preferably in a school setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach
• Knowledge of SEND legislation and policies, including the SEND Code of Practice
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
