Position Overview
Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is pleased to announce a vacancy for a Catering Services Assistant within our Facilities team. This role is integral to our operations, focusing on enhancing the dining experience for patients and visitors.
Work Schedule
This position entails a commitment of 12 hours per week, with shifts scheduled as follows:
- Week 1: Sunday, Monday, Saturday
- Week 2: Sunday, Thursday, Friday
- Week 3: Monday, Tuesday, Friday
- Week 4: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday
Shifts will typically occur between 11:30 AM and 9:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this role include:
- Assisting in food preparation and service within the main kitchen.
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area.
- Managing stock by moving, storing, and documenting inventory.
Flexibility is essential, as duties may vary based on operational needs and priorities set by management.
Candidate Profile
We seek a motivated individual who is dedicated to providing exceptional service. While prior experience in a similar role is advantageous, it is not mandatory as comprehensive training will be provided.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Good basic education.
- Willingness to achieve Level 2 Food Safety certification.
- NVQ Level 1/2 in Facilities Services and/or Customer Services is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and a pleasant demeanor.
Desirable Attributes
- Basic IT proficiency.
- Welsh language skills, either spoken or written.
