About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Kier Highways team. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for managing the financial and commercial aspects of our highway projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cost Management: Prepare, monitor, and control budgets for highway projects, conduct detailed cost forecasting and reporting, and manage project costs to ensure the project remains within budget.
  • Contract Management: Prepare and review contract documents, including bills of quantities, specifications, and drawings, oversee and manage subcontractor agreements, and ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly cost reports and financial statements, conduct regular financial reviews and updates, and provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks to the project, develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, maintain a risk register, and ensure it is up to date.
  • Procurement: Lead the procurement process for materials and subcontractors, negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers and subcontractors, and ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of resources.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in cost management, contract administration, and risk management.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, law, and regulations.
