Job Summary:

Cpl Life Sciences is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Data Centre Operations team. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our data centre's electrical systems, including high and low voltage distribution, electrical equipment maintenance, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the electrical systems of the data centre operate at 100% availability and maintain first-class customer service.
  • Supervise the maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment to the highest standards.
  • Manage risk and mitigation strategies to prevent downtime and ensure business continuity.
  • Project manage operational aspects of the data centre, including vendor management and metric reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Data Centre Operations team to ensure seamless operations and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of work experience in a critical operations environment.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Good understanding of data centre critical infrastructure, including diesel generators, chillers, cooling towers, CHW systems, air handling units, UPS, HV/LV electrical distribution systems, fire detection and suppression systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS7671 18th Edition.
  • High/Low Voltage Authorised Person (AP) experience.
  • 6+ years of data centre engineering/operations experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage (copper/fibre) cabling.
