Position Overview

We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a fixed-term full-time Advanced Clinical Psychologist role. The selected candidate will allocate half of their time to a dedicated team of pediatric psychologists and the other half to a newly established service focused on children and young people experiencing gender-related challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Pediatric Psychology Team

The successful candidate will be integrated into a dynamic team of pediatric psychologists, contributing to the care of children with cardiac and respiratory health issues. This role involves direct engagement with patients and their families, as well as indirect collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and external organizations.

Children and Young People's Gender Service

The role requires participation in a new team that conducts comprehensive assessments for children and young people, developing tailored care plans in collaboration with them and their support networks. The psychologist will provide various therapeutic interventions, including individual and family therapy, and will coordinate with health professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.

Clinical Leadership and Development

The post holder will offer clinical guidance and mentorship to junior staff, serving as a resource of expertise within the multidisciplinary team. A commitment to fostering a psychologically safe environment for staff and service users from diverse backgrounds is essential.
