**Job Title:** Assistant Highways Site Manager
**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Highways Site Manager to join our team at Fortem Solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading site teams and subcontractors in undertaking various tasks, including refurbishment programmes, and will be accountable for the management and planning of sub-contract labour.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Review certification to ensure that works comply with appropriate standards
- Ensure inspections are properly recorded on the prescribed forms of certification and reporting
- Issue clear and unambiguous works instructions to trades or subcontractors, ensuring a full and fair day's workload at all times
- Enforce health and safety procedures and policies
- Carry out ad hoc safety inspections on supply chain partners
- Conduct quality inspections on all works
- Ensure PAT testing of office equipment and plant is current
- Manage welfare facilities on site
**Requirements:**
- Experience of managing construction projects at Assistant Site Manager level
- Problem-solving skills and analytical capability
- Ability to work well under pressure
- IT skills, including the Microsoft Office package
- CSCS Card
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to undertake regular travel
**Desirable Criteria:**
- Experience in social housing repairs and maintenance
- Understanding of job costing
- SMSTS
- Knowledge or understanding of EWI/external cladding replacement and fire compliance works in a residential tower block setting
- Scaffold Inspection
- PASMA Trained
