We are seeking a dynamic, solutions-focused Electrical/Mechanical Professional to join our well-established client in the manufacturing sector. This role is pivotal in supporting the operations, where you will utilize your expertise in switchgear and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Wiring and Assembly: Conduct wiring and switchboard assembly, operate hand tools, electric tools, and associated equipment within the workshop.
  • Component Assembly: Select and install electrical components, connect wires to sockets, plugs, or terminals through crimping, soldering, brazing, or bolting.
  • Sub-Assembly Work: Assemble parts and sub-assemblies using hand tools and methods such as brazing, riveting, or welding.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role or a degree in an engineering-related subject.
  • Strong background in Electrical Engineering with in-depth knowledge of switchgear maintenance and installation.
  • Familiarity with LV and HV electrical switchgear systems, including circuit breakers and electrical protection schemes.
  • Experience with retrofitting LV and HV switchgear is advantageous.
  • Experience in developing maintenance and service programme proposals.
  • Knowledge of FAT and SAT processes related to switchgear and associated equipment.
  • Experience in contract negotiation with clients and suppliers is beneficial.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical CAD drawings.
  • Management capabilities and experience in developing junior project engineers.
  • Full UK Driving License required.
