Job Description

Step Teachers is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in a Reception class setting. As a specialist in Early Years, you will provide support to children following the EYFS framework and work closely with the Class Teacher and other staff members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to children with special educational needs in a Reception class setting.
  • Develop and implement enriching activities to enhance student learning and development, aligned with the EYFS framework.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with the Class Teacher, other staff members, and parents to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
  • Identify and address the additional support needs of students, working closely with the Class Teacher and other support staff.
Requirements:
  • Level 3 qualification in a relevant field, such as Special Educational Needs or Early Years.
  • Previous experience working in an Early Years setting, preferably in a mainstream school.
  • A nurturing nature and the ability to inspire learners of all abilities.
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with SEN experience.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people, with a patient and empathetic approach.
