Key Responsibilities- Design and implement high-availability solutions using Microsoft SQL Server technologies such as Windows Clustering, Availability Groups, and Distributed Availability Groups.
- Maintain and troubleshoot high-availability and disaster recovery solutions, including Windows Clustering and Always On Availability Groups.
- Conduct root cause analysis, database performance monitoring, and capacity planning to ensure optimal database performance.
- Perform performance tuning of databases and queries to optimize system performance.
- Implement and manage monitoring and proactive alerting processes to ensure prompt issue detection and resolution.
- Automate tasks using SQL Server Agent and PowerShell scripting.
- Participate in key periodic operations tasks, including high-availability and disaster recovery testing, operating system and database patching, database upgrades, and migrations.
- Provide comprehensive and clear documentation for all new database builds, redevelopments, and enhancements.
- Collaborate with developers to architect database solutions for core platform initiatives.
- Work independently and within a wider team with minimal supervision.
- Attend and actively participate in SCRUM ceremonies and events.
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server High Availability technologies, including Windows Clustering, Availability Groups, and Distributed Availability Groups.
- Experience with Windows Clustering.
- Enterprise-scale mission-critical SQL Server implementations, VLDB, multiple databases with Availability Groups.
- Implementing and troubleshooting SQL Server High Availability groups.
- Troubleshooting SQL Server Database Engine.
- Root cause analysis, database performance monitoring, and capacity planning.
- SQL Server migration and upgrade.
- SQL Server backup and recovery.
- SQL Server patch management.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English.
