Job Overview:
The Electrical Construction Supervisor is a pivotal leadership position responsible for managing and coordinating all electrical installation activities on-site.

This role entails overseeing a team of electrical leads and technicians, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently, within budgetary constraints, and adhering to the highest safety and quality standards.

The Electrical Construction Supervisor will also be instrumental in workforce enhancement, concentrating on training and professional development to elevate the team's skill set.


Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Coordination:
Organize, schedule, and coordinate electrical work tasks in advance to ensure smooth operations.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trade supervisors to synchronize electrical tasks with overall project timelines.

Create comprehensive work plans and assign duties to leads and technicians.

Ensure the availability of all necessary materials, tools, and equipment to meet project deadlines.

Team Management:
Lead and supervise a team of electrical leads and technicians, providing clear guidance and support.

Conduct regular team briefings to communicate project objectives, expectations, and any adjustments to the work plan.

Monitor team performance, offering feedback and coaching to maintain high productivity and quality workmanship.

Address any issues or conflicts that arise on-site, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

Safety and Compliance:
Ensure all electrical work adheres to relevant health and safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.

Conduct routine safety audits and inspections, addressing any non-compliance issues immediately.

Promote a robust safety culture on-site, leading by example and ensuring that all team members adhere to safety protocols.

Coordinate with safety officers to implement site-specific safety plans and procedures.

Quality Control:
Ensure all electrical installations meet the required quality standards and specifications.

Conduct regular inspections to verify the quality of work and address any issues promptly.

Collaborate closely with the quality control team to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.

Implement corrective measures when necessary to rectify any deviations from the project plan.

Workforce Development:
Identify training and development needs within the team and coordinate relevant training initiatives.

Mentor and support the professional growth of leads and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Collaborate with HR to develop career progression pathways for the electrical workforce.

Encourage the adoption of innovative technologies and techniques to enhance the team's capabilities.

Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the Project Manager, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and upcoming milestones.

Maintain accurate records of work activities, including timesheets, material usage, and safety inspections.

Assist in the preparation of risk assessments, method statements, and other necessary documentation.

Qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.

18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.

2391 Inspection and Testing certification (or equivalent).

ECS Gold Card holder.

IPAF 3a/3b certification.

SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)

Strong IT skills, particularly in SharePoint and Excel.

First Aid at Work certification.

Minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory role within the electrical construction industry.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and standards.

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable:
HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

First Aid at Work certification.

Experience with modern construction management software.

Working Conditions:
The role is primarily site-based with regular visits to various project locations.

Flexibility in working hours may be required to meet project deadlines.
