Position Overview:

As an Automotive Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of control systems for specialized machinery used in automotive manufacturing. This role involves both the creation of new designs and the modification of existing systems to enhance functionality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design control circuits tailored for specialized machinery.
  • Develop a comprehensive functions list for machine control, ensuring thorough cross-referencing with control circuits.
  • Prioritize safety in all designs and implementations, both in-house and at client locations.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal subcontractors and external design teams.
  • Provide support across various departments, including Sales, Purchasing, Human Resources, Finance, and Production.
  • Address control system requirements for both powertrain and vehicle body technology sectors.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in the automotive or automation sectors is essential.
  • This is a full-time, office-based position, requiring presence on-site.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide to support ongoing projects, with travel expenses covered by the company.
  • Candidates must possess the right to work in the UK, hold a valid UK driving license, and have access to a vehicle.
  • A minimum of an Engineering HNC or equivalent experience is required.
  • Proficient knowledge of electrical circuit design is necessary.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Eplan P8 is preferred.
  • Experience with Siemens S7 and TIA Portal programming and commissioning is advantageous.
