We are currently seeking a Senior Manager - Component & Plant Structural Analysis to play a pivotal role in our mission to enhance diversity within the nuclear industry.
Role Overview:
Reporting directly to the Chief Design Engineer for Components and Mechanical Equipment, the Senior Manager - Component and Plant Structural Analysis will provide strategic leadership across all facets of structural analysis, supporting both component development and broader plant initiatives.
This senior leadership position is situated within the newly established Components and Mechanical Equipment team, which encompasses all hardware aspects of the SMR power station solution. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering the team's capabilities to meet rigorous demands while exemplifying strong leadership qualities and cultivating robust relationships across the organization.
The selected individual will spearhead the structural analysis function, ensuring it aligns with the evolving requirements throughout the product lifecycle. Flexibility and agility in leadership will be crucial as the landscape continues to change.
The responsibilities include leading, managing, and developing the team to deliver a comprehensive suite of structural analysis methodologies, processes, and tools, thereby establishing the team as the design authority in their area of expertise. The candidate should be prepared to adapt and grow alongside the business and the team.

Essential Qualifications:
- Proven experience in applied structural analysis within the nuclear sector.
- Demonstrated leadership in large-scale, complex projects and engineering teams.
- Expertise in structural analysis methods and their integration with safety cases in the Nuclear Industry.
- Strong relationship-building skills at all organizational levels.
- Self-motivated with the ability to inspire others, driving maturity in product development aligned with program demands.
Educational Background:
- Extensive experience as a senior leader in structural analysis with a proven track record in delivering complex integrated programs and strong people leadership skills.
- A strategic thinker adept at navigating challenges within a developing business environment.
- History of leadership and successful delivery of large-scale nuclear product development initiatives.
- Chartered Engineer status or equivalent qualifications.
- Technical degree or equivalent educational background.
Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary ranging from £68,000 to £89,000 (Dependent on Experience), along with:
- Performance-related bonus of up to 17%
- Benefits allowance of £5,500 for a customized package
- Pension contributions of 12% employer and 6% employee
- 28 days of holiday plus public holidays, with options to buy or sell up to 4 days
- Private medical insurance through BUPA
- Life assurance at 6x pensionable pay
- One-off payment of £250 for home office setup
