Science Technician Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Science Technician to join our team at a vibrant secondary school in the Canterbury area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of Materials: Prepare and set up equipment and materials for Science experiments and demonstrations according to curriculum requirements.
  • Maintenance of Equipment: Ensure all laboratory equipment is well maintained, calibrated, and safe for use by students and staff.
  • Health and Safety: Implement and uphold strict health and safety protocols in the laboratory, including the safe disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Support for Teachers: Assist Science teachers during lessons, providing technical support and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of laboratory supplies and equipment and assist in ordering new materials when necessary.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Science Technician to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality Science education.

We are looking for someone with experience of working in a laboratory environment, preferably in an educational setting, and a strong understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures related to laboratory work.

As a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the Science Department and contributing to the success of our students.
