Job Title: SEN Support Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated SEN Support Assistant to join our team at Southcote Primary School. As a SEN Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of children with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to children with special educational needs, developing and implementing personalized learning plans to meet their unique needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and reduce challenging behavior.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers to ensure a consistent approach to supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date with best practices in SEN support.

Requirements:

  • Sound working knowledge of supporting young children's learning.
  • Good interpersonal skills with team members and parents.
  • Previous experience of working with young children and those with behavior issues.
  • Good standard of spoken and written English.
  • Specialist skills/training in areas of Special Educational Needs.
  • Passion for working with children with SEN.
