Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Safeguarding and Welfare Officer. This role is responsible for providing well-being interventions, advice, and guidance to learners with mental health concerns and/or safeguarding issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide mental health support and first aid to learners with mental health concerns and/or support needs;
  • Work collaboratively with the College counsellor to support learners with safeguarding or emotional needs;
  • Produce reports for Personal Education Plan, Early Help, Child in Need, and Child Protection meetings;
  • Support the delivery and development of events, strategies, and training programs to increase understanding of mental health across the College.

Requirements:

  • GCSE Grade C (4/5) in English and Maths or equivalent;
  • Level 3 Safeguarding qualification (or willingness to achieve);
  • Experience of safeguarding, working with young people, and vulnerable adults;
  • Evidence of relevant continuous professional development that includes mental health;
  • Enhanced DBS check.
