Director of Ecology

Salary - £70K+ depending on experience and potential profit share

About the Company

Locri Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to join our team as a Director of Ecology. Our company is passionate about applying cutting-edge ecological principles and approaches to tackle some of the most challenging policy and development projects.

Moving forward, we are committed to continue supporting some of the UK's most prominent consultancy projects. We are now looking for a passionate and motivated professional to join us in delivering a diverse and rewarding project portfolio.

  • Strategic Contribution: Participate in the development and execution of team-wide strategies and resource planning.
  • Leadership: Work closely with the Ecology Leadership Team to inspire, motivate, and guide a team of dedicated ecologists and ornithologists.
  • Best Practices Implementation: Develop and implement operational and scientific best practices for ecological surveys, assessments, and team management.
  • Project Management: Oversee a diverse portfolio of ecological consultancy projects, ensuring effective resourcing, timely delivery, and financial performance.
  • External Representation: Act as an ambassador for the company at industry events and best practice forums.
  • Supportive Culture: Be part of a supportive environment of like-minded professionals passionate about ecology.
  • Diverse Projects: Work on a mix of exciting projects from energy generation to historic building restoration and strategic biodiversity enhancement plans.

About You The successful candidate will complement the existing ecology team, and will share their commitment to high quality science to help grow and develop the business. Proven track record in managing complex ecological consultancy projects.Deep understanding of UK ecological survey and assessment methods, legislation, and the development planning process.Proficiency in MS Office tools.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of English nature conservation legislation and policy.
