Senior Lawyer - SEN Education Specialist

Location: East Bedfordshire (Hybrid - 2 days in office)
Salary: £43,000 - £56,750 (Depending on Experience)
Job Type: Full-time

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Education Specialist to provide expert legal services to our clients. This role involves handling complex Special Educational Needs and education matters, ensuring legal compliance and protecting client interests.

Day-to-day of the role:
  1. Manage a caseload of complex SEN Tribunal cases with minimal supervision.
  2. Undertake advocacy in case management and final hearings in the first-tier SEND Tribunal, and instruct counsel as needed.
  3. Identify and manage risks associated with SEN legal practice.
  4. Attend client liaison meetings to discuss ongoing cases and ensure service quality.
  5. Develop and deliver legal training to clients in specific areas of law.
  6. Support the management team in building and maintaining client relationships and ensuring compliance with SRA and practice management requirements.
  7. Contribute to the development and mentoring of colleagues within the Litigation Team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  1. Qualified Lawyer with experience in SEN Education law.
  2. Proven ability to manage complex legal cases independently.
  3. Strong advocacy skills with experience in SEND Tribunal hearings.
  4. Ability to provide comprehensive legal advice and representation.
  5. Experience in client training and development in legal skills and law areas.
