About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Administrative Assistant to join our team at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust. As an Administrative Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing administrative support to our team, ensuring the smooth operation of our office and providing excellent customer service to our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Patient Affairs Officer, including petty cash, banking, and financial duties.
  • Support the Patient Affairs Officer in completing administrative tasks, including estates requisitions, issuing site keys and alarms to new staff and contractors.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to achieve set tasks and deadlines.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff, responding to queries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including financial transactions and administrative tasks.
Requirements
  • GCSE in English and Maths Grade C or above, or equivalent.
  • RSA II or equivalent experience in Word Processing/Typing.
  • Experience of working within an office environment with cash handling and financial reconciliation experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good time management skills to work within set deadlines.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to organise own workload.
  • Computer literate and able to learn and work on a variety of systems.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Previous experience of working within the NHS, ideally Mental Health Services.
Personal Qualities and Attributes
  • Ability to work flexibly to cross cover with the Patient Affairs Officer across 5 days a week to provide a continuous service during periods of leave or sickness.
  • Ability to work in a busy environment in a calm, efficient, and confident way.
  • Helpful and approachable, with a patient and supportive approach towards others.
  • Positive, professional, and can-do approach.
  • Neat and understandable handwriting.
