About the Role

We are seeking an experienced EHS professional to join our high-performing team at our Worthing site. As an EHS Risk and Compliance Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving site EHS performance, supporting site operations, and implementing Core EHS Programmes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert EHS advice to the Worthing site to maintain and improve site EHS performance.
  • Lead integration of EHS into site operations through Independent Business Monitoring audits, chairing investigations for accidents and significant near-misses, and sponsoring resulting preventive actions.
  • Provide managers with technical guidance, support, and training to enable them to effectively manage EHS performance within their business area and provide training to enable staff to safely carry out their duties.
  • Maintain effective relationships with EHS stakeholders such as the Health and Safety Executive, Environment Agency, and Global GSK functions.
  • Responsible for highly effective communications with all employees within the work area, to build understanding, alignment, and engagement.
  • Deputise for EHS Director or other Subject Matter Experts, where appropriate and based on capability/experience.
Requirements
  • Prior experience of working in a pharmaceutical manufacturing or other highly regulated technical industry.
  • Graduate degree (in relevant subject) with a broad technical/engineering/scientific skills base.
  • Demonstrated project management expertise and excellent communication across all levels of the organisation.
  • Broad knowledge of the engineering professional environment and associated disciplines/skills.
  • The ability to coach/mentor/inspire site front line leaders, engineers, and technicians in order to ensure they can proactively identify risks and implement robust solutions is a core skill.
