Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Team Manager to join our team at Premier Foods. As a leader of a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering all aspects of output to standard metrics in an engaging and collaborative way.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Management: Ensure all Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures are followed, and support a behavioural safety culture. Take a clear leadership role during breakdowns, ensuring appropriate handover processes are in place.
  • Operational Excellence: Work with Operational Teams and Centre Managers to proactively develop and drive maintenance of lines, improve quality, safety, and asset utilisation, working to agreed metrics and SLAs.
  • Automation and Performance: Actively work to optimise automation performance, support service tracking, and analysis of error rates, and assist in the production of corrective action plans.
  • Team Development and Performance Management: Set team goals together with the team, communicate long and short-term goals, and ensure everyone understands their role and the part they play in the team.
  • HR and Talent Management: Effectively manage all personnel matters in a timely manner, including absence management, welcome back conversations, management of restrictions, and LTS cases.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship, ONC/HNC or equivalent qualification in engineering.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a management position, with a working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronic technical manuals and drawings.
  • Skills: Ability to collaborate and influence peers and senior management to drive progress and achieve desired results, and manage people performance, coaching, and development of a team.
