Job Summary

Chelmer Primary Care Network is seeking a skilled Physician Associate to join our team on a part-time basis. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality clinical care to patients, working closely with GPs and other healthcare professionals.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct clinical assessments, diagnoses, and treatment under the supervision of a GP.
  • Interview patients, take medical histories, and perform physical examinations.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider clinical team to deliver services that meet patient needs.
  • Consult and refer patients to physicians, medical specialists, and other health professionals.
  • Recommend and explain appropriate diagnostic tests or treatments.
  • Request and interpret results of laboratory investigations.
  • Perform specialized diagnostic physical exams and treatment procedures.
  • Instruct and educate patients in preventative healthcare.
  • Conduct telephone consultations and deal with routine and emergency complaints.
  • Document all aspects of patient care.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • A postgraduate degree in Physician Associate Studies from an accredited PA programme.
  • Membership of the Faculty of Physician Associates at the RCP, including UK Physician Associate Registration.
  • Current and valid certification or re-certification by the UK Physician Associate National Examination.

Experience

  • Experience in preventative medicine and chronic disease management.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to a varied and high-volume workload.
  • A consistently compassionate and respectful approach to patient care.
