Area Sales Manager Home Based

This is a brand-new Area Sales Manager position within a long-established organisation that has recently brought in an experienced Sales Director to guide their growth journey into 2025 and beyond. The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for selling a range of workwear, PPE, and safety footwear into independent retailers, DIY businesses, and Builders Merchants.
The ideal candidate will have an introduction to b2b field sales, be activity driven, and enjoy being on the road at least four days per week. They will also have a mindset to speak with customers on a daily basis, understand questioning techniques, and be able to develop customer needs.
The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for developing existing relationships with retailers around 70% of the time in the first 12 months, with the other 30% being acquisition of brand-new business in between those calls.
There is a lot of autonomy with this role, and journey planning is key. Progression routes here are Key or National Accounts and even sales leadership in the future.
The Company:This is a long-established organisation that has been trading since the 1940s. They have a strong existing sales team and are looking to expand and take an opportunity to grow market share.
They have recently invested in new leadership within the sales team, which will give them drive, direction, and a long-term plan. They want this new Area Sales Manager to be a fundamental part of that growth strategy.

Package:The base salary for this role is £32k-42k, with an OTE of £45k in the first year. The company also offers a hybrid company car, phone, laptop, 24 days holiday, and a contributory pension scheme.
