Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Associate Building Surveyor to join an international building consultancy in central London. The successful candidate will work on varied projects with high-profile private and public sector clients, managing and providing building surveying and project management duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and provide building surveying and project management duties on various projects.
  • Assist in the development of new and repeat business across all sectors.
  • Manage client relationships and service delivery on a project-by-project basis.
  • Support senior managers in the day-to-day running of the business.
  • Undertake project management and contract administration duties for larger projects.
  • Conduct condition and measured surveys.
  • Design and implement small to medium-sized projects.
  • Perform due diligence surveys.
  • Apply standard forms of building contracts, such as JCT and NEC.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry issues and best practices.
  • Develop bids and bid management experience.
  • Act as the primary interface with key clients and ensure quality and timeliness of service delivery.
  • Experience in sectors including education, local authorities, healthcare, central government, and infrastructure projects.
  • Defect analysis, building surveys, and producing professional reports and specifications.
  • Mentor and train junior building surveyors and participate in the APC program.
  • Understand quality, safety, and environmental principles within project management.
  • Deliver pre- and post-contract project management services.
  • Manage teams and deliver commissions under framework agreements.
  • Generate revenue from framework agreements to meet targets and maintain client relationships.
  • Support project managers in delivering projects to meet client requirements and fees.
  • Prepare competitive and timely fee proposals and ensure invoicing and debt collection.
  • Liaise with clients to understand issues and formulate scope and fees.
  • Maintain a detailed orderbook and pipeline and share resourcing requirements with resource managers.
Requirements
  • BSc (Hon's) Building Surveying RICS Accredited degree.
  • Full member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
  • Good all-round surveying experience and client-facing work-winning skills.
  • Experience in pre- and post-contract project management responsibilities.
