Religious Education Teacher (Maternity Cover)

We are seeking a qualified Religious Education teacher to join our team for a maternity cover position.

This is a part-time role, ideal for candidates who can support and uphold the Catholic ethos of our school.

Those with a Catholic faith or background are especially encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach Religious Education to students at KS3 and KS4.
  • At KS3, teach form groups in line with the RE Curriculum Directory.
  • At KS4, guide students through the Edexcel courses: "Study of Religion (Roman Catholicism)," "Study of Second Religion (Judaism)," and "Philosophy & Ethics," with all students entered for GCSE qualifications.
  • At KS5, teach the Edexcel A Level Philosophy, Ethics & Scripture options and contribute to our in-house Sixth Form Core RE programme, accredited by NOCN.
Department Highlights:

We offer a range of enriching experiences, including day and residential retreats for KS3 and KS4 students, an annual Year 7 charity sleepover, and trips to Rome and Krakow.

Our department places a strong emphasis on liturgical participation, with RE classes preparing and participating in weekly Mass at St Mark's Church, as well as seasonal liturgies and Masses.
