As a Backend Developer in the Ads division, you will engage with intricate backend systems and APIs. The existing on-premises systems utilize Scala, and the team is looking to incorporate engineers with a robust understanding of AWS as they transition to Golang and cloud-based solutions. You will encounter numerous technical challenges, working on large-scale, distributed systems that push the boundaries of technology.

The work environment is dynamic and international, providing a platform for you to make a significant impact, tackle complex systems, and continuously enhance your skills, with 20% of your time allocated for personal projects.

Remote Work Policy:

This role allows for full-time remote work, with the expectation of quarterly team meetings.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience as a Backend Software Engineer, particularly with scalable and distributed systems.
  • Strong background in AWS and microservices architecture.
  • Proficient in Scala and/or Golang, with a willingness to work with both languages.
  • Solid understanding of API development.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as Kafka, BigQuery, and GraphQL.
  • A passion for problem-solving and collaboration.
  • A degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field, with a minimum 2.1 classification from a reputable university.
