Quantity Surveyor Job Description

At Jackson Hogg Ltd, we are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will play a crucial role in managing costs, ensuring efficient progress, and maintaining financial control on our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cost Planning and Estimating: Assess client needs, estimate material quantities, and negotiate contracts to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Pre-contract Estimating: Prepare detailed estimates for UFH systems, taking into account various factors that can affect costs.
  • Contract Negotiation: Collaborate with clients and subcontractors to negotiate contracts that meet their needs while ensuring our company's financial interests are protected.
  • Final Accounts: Prepare and manage final accounts, ensuring accurate financial reporting and reconciliation.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks that could impact project costs, such as currency exchange rates and inflation.
  • Cost Monitoring: Regularly monitor project costs to ensure they stay within budgetary constraints.
  • Cost Value Reconciliation: Develop and manage cost value reconciliation processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Requirements
  • Understanding of Financial Processes: Proven experience in developing cost value reconciliation processes and managing financial aspects of construction projects.
  • Estimating and Surveying Experience: Proven experience in estimating, surveying, or tendering, with a strong understanding of construction costs and processes.
  • Qualifications: BSc in Quantity Surveying or similar, with a strong understanding of building services and construction processes.
