Maths Teacher Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Maths Teacher to join our dynamic team at a coeducational secondary school in Newham. As a Maths Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the educational experiences of our students, helping them to develop a strong foundation in mathematics and a love for learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching and Learning: Deliver engaging and effective Maths lessons to students of varying abilities, plan, prepare, and assess students' work to ensure progress and attainment.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of the Maths curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of all students.
  • Pastoral Care: Support students' academic and personal growth through pastoral care, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and stimulating learning environment, sharing best practices and expertise to enhance student outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, a degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
  • Subject Knowledge: Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Maths, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Continuous Professional Development: Commitment to continuous professional development, staying up-to-date with best practices and developments in Maths education.
