We are seeking a highly skilled Water Distribution Assurance Engineer to join our team at Yorkshire Water. As a key member of our Water Distribution team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our water supply network.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide expert retrospective analysis of supply interruption events to fully understand and articulate impact upon customers and compliance on the water network.
- Undertake engineering and hydraulic analysis of event impacts and a critical analysis of incident response to help build both tactical and process controls to mitigate the risk of future failure.
- Carry out the Annual Performance Reporting process for supply interruptions, and enable the company to maintain a high level of assurance and compliance with the regulator.
- Deliver world-class asset and operational excellence across YW assets, in pursuit of health and safety excellence; regulatory compliance; and customer satisfaction.
- Take personal responsibility for self and others with respect to health & safety, risk management, and control of work to ensure compliance with YW H&S Policy & Procedures.
- Retrospectively complete detailed network failure reports containing hydraulic and engineering analysis using all the available data and complete detailed hydraulic calculations to understand the property impact and duration of the event.
- Provide critical analysis of events to fully understand failure and identify opportunities for future improvements to incident response.
- Preparing and presenting detailed documents outlining impact of events on the water network, a timeline of interventions and actions taken leading to restoration and hydraulic calculations to accurately report customer minutes lost.
- Liaise with stakeholders within other departments involved in Source to Tap processes to ensure that information across the whole process is considered when completing analysis.
- Demonstrate a continuous improvement commitment by ensuring that tactical intervention actions and identified network asset risk and improvement opportunities are recorded and fed back to the appropriate operational and engineering teams.
- Fully aware of H&S requirements which relate to the operation of the water network including working on the highway, confined spaces, lone working.
- Full understanding of the regulatory and service targets in relation to Water Networks is essential, as is a dynamic understanding of analysis, performance and risk.
- A knowledge of, and can apply detailed hydraulic calculations and undertake hydraulic modelling to determine the impact of network failure, and proposed mitigation activity.
- Proven track record data analysis and manipulation skills of interpreting / compiling and data analysis is essential.
- Experienced in Yorkshire Water's corporate systems including: SAP, AI2, Odyssey, SRM, YorBill, ICE, Netbase, Halma, RTNet.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Meticulous in all aspects of analysis and presentation to ensure the high level of assurance and confidence in our data is maintained.
- Advanced user of excel.
- A minimum of, or to be working toward an HNC in an engineering or related qualification.
