About This Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our dynamic CAMHS Therapeutic Education Team at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing specialized support to young people experiencing mental health challenges and their families.

Your Responsibilities

  • Deliver individual therapeutic interventions and lead group sessions tailored to the specific needs of young people within our care.
  • Collaborate closely with care staff, fostering a supportive network for service users and their families.
  • Develop and implement specialized care packages grounded in evidence-based practices, such as the Trauma Recovery Model.
  • Provide comprehensive support to young people, their caregivers, and other professionals involved in their care.

Your Qualifications and Experience

  • Possess a recognized professional qualification in Mental Health, Social Work, or Occupational Therapy.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of mental health disorders prevalent in children and young people.
  • Exhibit a commitment to therapeutic practices that promote positive change and well-being.
  • Have experience working with children and young people, ideally within a mental health setting.
