Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead a team of mechanical fitters to ensure the successful completion of construction projects.
  2. Oversee the installation and maintenance of mechanical equipment, including pumps, motors, and rafts.
  3. Ensure compliance with technical drawings, engineering standards, and quality specifications.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and objectives.
  5. Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure high-quality workmanship.
  6. Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address potential issues.
  7. Provide training and guidance to junior staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  8. Maintain accurate records and reports to track project progress and performance.

Requirements:

  1. Time-served mechanical fitter with a recognized apprenticeship or equivalent.
  2. Competence in reading and interpreting technical drawings and engineering standards/procedures.
  3. Ability to follow instructions, drawings, and quality standards/specifications.
  4. Experience in installing and mounting equipment, including pumps, motors, and rafts.
  5. Experience in installing mechanical joints.
  6. Experience in testing systems, including pneumatic and hydrostatic systems.
  7. Experience in shield doors or mechanical handling equipment.
  8. CSCS card and experience working on-site in a heavily regulated environment.
  9. Gold CSCS Supervisor card and SSSTS is essential for this role.
