Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support a student with autism in a Primary School setting.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work one-to-one with the student, providing support and guidance to help them engage with lessons and develop their learning skills.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with SEN and be able to demonstrate their ability to adapt their methods to meet the individual needs of the student.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one support to the student, helping them to stay focused and engaged in lessons
  • Build effective relationships with the student, staff, and parents to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment
  • Be flexible and adaptable, able to respond to the changing needs of the student and the school
  • Contribute to the development of the student's learning plan, working closely with the teacher and other support staff
  • Maintain accurate records of the student's progress and provide regular updates to the teacher and parents
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working with students with SEN, particularly autism
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced school environment
  • Confidence in using your initiative to support the student and the school
