Maintenance Manager Job Description

The Maintenance Manager is a key member of our team at Escapade, Silverstone, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our luxury hotel's facilities and equipment. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance plan to ensure the hotel's facilities and equipment are well-maintained and meet the highest standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact on guest satisfaction.
  • Co-ordinate and execute maintenance activities, including repairs, installations, and replacements, to minimize disruption to guests and operations.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for maintenance tasks.
  • Implement and maintain departmental procedures, policies, and checklists to ensure efficient operations and high-quality service.
  • Collaborate with external contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Develop and manage the departmental budget, including forecasting and budget planning.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and procure materials and services at competitive prices.
  • Ensure all staff have been adequately trained on departmental procedures, safe working practices, and luxury customer service.
  • Communicate effectively with guests, addressing their concerns or requests related to maintenance promptly and professionally.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Head of Maintenance/Chief Engineer within the hospitality industry or a similar setting.
  • Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in managing various building systems and equipment, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance practices.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures related to maintenance operations.
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience in a lifestyle/distinctive brand is advantageous.
  • A good command of the English language and an immaculate level of personal grooming and hygiene.
  • Competent in using IT systems and software, including Microsoft Office.
  • A full, clean UK driving license.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, with weekend availability. The ideal candidate will be able to commute or relocate to Towcester, with a preference for the latter.
