About the RoleWe're seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to join our team in Huntingdon, Cambs. As a leader, you'll be responsible for providing daily guidance, coaching, and mentoring to our manufacturing teams. Your focus will be on creating and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities- Health & Safety - Take ownership of delivering our Site Safety Roadmap and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety.
- Leadership/People Development - Provide leadership and development to a team of Shift Managers and Department Team Leaders.
- Drive Performance - Accountable for creating, monitoring, and delivering all manufacturing KPIs across the site.
- Problem Solving / Root Cause Analysis - Lead and develop the team through rigorous Root Cause Analysis, implementing robust CAPA.
- Continuous Improvement - Promote a culture of world-class basics through disciplined adherence to 5S principles. Lead weekly Gemba walk activity, coaching employees on 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, Continuous Improvement, Flow, Problem Solving, and other lean methods.
- Planning - Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
- Cost Control - Maintain a laser focus on cost control, determining the most cost-efficient methods of manufacture and managing resources efficiently.
- Performance Management - Conduct disciplinary and grievance meetings as required.
- 5+ years' experience of managing large teams in a manufacturing environment.
- A solid understanding of Engineering principles, Project Management, Lean Six Sigma fundamentals, and financial acumen.
- Demonstrable experience of creating and monitoring a suite of KPIs to improve business operational results.
- Experience of building and developing an effective team through coaching and mentoring.
