Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Officer to join our team at Marigold House. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to ensuring that our facilities are safe, well-maintained, and fully functional, creating a comfortable and secure environment that enhances the well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance work to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.
  • Carry out repairs, general decoration, basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks to maintain the highest standards of safety and comfort.
  • Check and maintain safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and alarms, to ensure the well-being of our residents and staff.
  • Safely and effectively use a variety of hand and power tools to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Oversee and manage onsite building contractors to ensure that work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Fire Safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required to support our quality assurance processes.
  • Promote the safety and wellbeing of residents by identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Work flexibly, including out-of-hours when required, to ensure that our facilities are always safe and well-maintained.

Requirements

  • NVQ, HNC, HND, or other Maintenance Qualification, or equivalent experience in a maintenance role.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and Fire Safety regulations to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written English to support our quality assurance processes.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and online reporting platforms, to support our administrative tasks.
  • Good physical stamina for tasks involving lifting and carrying to ensure the safe and efficient completion of tasks.
  • Positive attitude, excellent time management, and problem-solving skills to support our team's efforts.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and establish good rapport with staff and residents to support our care delivery.
  • Full driving license and ability to travel between sites to support our operational needs.
  • To be eligible to work in the UK to support our compliance with employment laws.
