Quantity Surveyor Opportunity

Fawkes & Reece West Midlands is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team in the Midlands area.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing construction costs, preparing tender documents, and analyzing site variations. They will also be involved in the preparation of cost reports and value vs. cost analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of fortnightly and monthly sub-contract payment certificates
  • Tendering enquiries, analysis, and order placing
  • Pre-start meeting attendance, pre-tender or tender analysis meetings
  • Receipt, preparation of sales extra quotations, and issues of subsequent orders
  • Preparation of house type build cost estimates, site development cost budgets, and quants and costs for new site feasibility studies
  • Preparation of new site construction cost budgets
  • Analysis, measurement, and pricing of site variation works
  • Measurement of works on site to check/price progress and agree payments
  • Recording of all payments on company computer system and files
  • Preparation of quarterly cost reports and value vs. cost analysis
  • Control of ongoing site costs by careful cost maintenance, measurement, and negotiation with contractors
  • The guidance and control of a Trainee Quantity Surveyor
  • Reviews of estimates and budgets as required to maintain up-to-date cost data base
