Role Overview: As a CT Radiographer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our imaging and outpatient teams, ensuring the effective delivery of our clinical services. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting data entry and performing various imaging tests.
  • Administering eyesight and visual field assessments.
  • Providing personal care and support to patients.

You will be responsible for preparing patients for their examinations and conducting a variety of imaging procedures, as well as compiling reports and baseline evaluations for review by other clinical professionals.

Training and Development: You will receive comprehensive training at the Bristol Eye Hospital. Upon achieving the necessary competencies, you may be required to travel to peripheral clinics and hospital sites to deliver essential clinical care. Flexibility in working hours, including weekends, may be necessary.

Patient Interaction: Effective communication is vital in this role. You will engage empathetically with patients, their families, and caregivers, particularly those who may be experiencing emotional distress or have communication barriers such as learning difficulties, language differences, or sensory impairments.

Clinical Duties: Following appropriate training and assessment, you will undertake a range of clinical responsibilities, which may include:

  • Understanding and executing all clinical tasks performed by assistant ophthalmic and vision scientists.
  • Assisting with intravitreal injections.
  • Conducting pachymetry and HRT.
  • Performing stereo disc photography and visual field testing.
  • Carrying out blood glucose testing and ECG recording.
  • Participating in research and sample collection.
