Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure Workplace Safety: Maintain a safe working environment by identifying risks and implementing effective solutions.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments: Regularly assess and address potential hazards, developing procedures to minimise risks.
  • Develop Operational Procedures: Create and enforce procedures that manage safety risks in line with legislative requirements.
  • Manage Safety Practices: Oversee safety inspections, fire drills, and ensure all safety practices are followed.
  • Lead Inductions: Conduct comprehensive inductions for new staff, ensuring they are fully aware of their safety responsibilities.
  • Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest health and safety legislation and ensure company compliance.
  • Safety Equipment: Oversee the safe installation of equipment and manage procurement of PPE and safety gear.
  • Incident Reporting: Document and report incidents and accidents, providing detailed reports for management.
  • Liaise with Authorities: Engage with external health and safety authorities to ensure best practices.
  • Verify Certification: Ensure all personnel have the correct certifications and cards for their roles.
  • Conduct Inspections: Implement a thorough programme of health and safety inspections and audits.
  • Manage Hazardous Substances: Safely handle the disposal of hazardous materials, including asbestos.
  • Provide Specialist Advice: Offer expert guidance on fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, and machinery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Review and update H&S policies and procedures, communicating changes effectively.
Requirements
  • CSCS/CSR Card
  • NEBOSH Certificate
  • Excellent IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience: Relevant experience in health and safety within the Construction or Fit Out industry.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written skills for effective relationship-building.
  • Investigative Experience: Experience handling H&S investigations and advising management.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and a proactive approach.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing situations and continuously improve.
