Roadworker 2/3 - Construction and Maintenance

Job Summary
The Moray Council is seeking a skilled Roadworker 2/3 to join our team in the maintenance and construction of roads and footways. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for undertaking a range of tasks, including:
- Signing and guarding of works
- Drainage and kerbing works
- Preparation and laying of coated and uncoated materials
- Fixing and dismantling street furniture
- Driving of vehicles and plant
- Participating in the delivery of the Winter Service and response to other emergencies
- Operation of power tools
- General support of specialist operatives
- Meeting health and safety requirements
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience of outdoor manual work
- Understanding of health and safety requirements
- A current driving licence
- Preparedness to work towards acquiring an LGV licence
- Satisfaction of DVLA criteria to obtain LGV licence
- Ability to keep basic records
- Willingness to work outside in all weather
- Flexible attitude and ability to work as a member of a team
- A high level of applied physical effort
Working Conditions
This role requires you to work outdoors in all weather conditions and to participate in the Winter and Summer Out of Hours Rota. You will also be required to work overtime as needed.
Benefits
The Moray Council offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including:
- Starting salary: £16.00 to £24.00 per hour
- 37 hours per week
- Dependent on relevant qualifications and experience
