Position Overview
The Catering Division at Hampshire Hospitals is dedicated to providing nutritious meals to both patients and staff. The role involves various responsibilities including the assembly of patient meals, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the catering facilities and equipment, as well as assisting in our on-site dining area. We seek an individual who is committed to delivering exceptional service and is eager to acquire new skills and knowledge to enhance our operations.
This is a versatile position where the employee may be required to assist in different areas within the Catering Department.
Key Responsibilities
The Bank position offers flexibility, allowing you to select shifts that fit your schedule, making it ideal for students and those with other commitments. Shifts available include breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
There may also be chances to work in our dining facility.
We provide comprehensive induction and training, and uniforms along with personal protective equipment (PPE) will be supplied.

Qualifications and Training
Essential Requirements
- Good educational background or equivalent experience, such as GCSE at grades 4-9, A-C, NVQ level 2, or similar.
- Basic Food Hygiene Certification or willingness to obtain.
- Level 2 Certificate in Nutrition and Health or willingness to pursue.
Desirable Qualifications
- Level 2 Certificate in Cleaning Knowledge and Skills.
Experience and Knowledge
Essential Experience
- Prior experience in catering, including basic food handling and preparation.
- Experience in a customer-facing role.
- Understanding of COSHH, Health and Safety, and Food Safety regulations, including allergen information, or willingness to learn and undertake additional training.
- In-depth knowledge of food allergens or willingness to learn.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in an NHS catering environment.
