Staff Midwife Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Midwife to join our team at The Portland Hospital for Women & Children in London.

About the Role:

  • Provide high-quality care to women during their inpatient stay, working within the midwifery team to deliver antenatal, intranatal, and postnatal care.
  • Work alongside Obstetric Consultants to support Consultant Led Care within the maternity service.
  • Develop effective communication and working relationships with the multi-disciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate good clinical practice in the provision of antenatal, intranatal, and postnatal care.
  • Provide midwifery advice to support and facilitate high-quality, individualized care to women and their families.
  • Establish effective communication and working relationships with the multi-disciplinary team.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in a Midwifery setting.
  • NMC Registered Midwife (Band 6).
  • Basic Adult and Newborn Life Support.
  • Teaching and mentoring experience.
  • Competent at cannulation.
