Job Title: Senior Software Developer

Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is seeking a skilled Senior Software Developer to fill a 6-month contract position. This role will involve working on a hybrid schedule, with a mix of remote and office work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resolve production defects and configuration updates with immediate attention.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Vocational Trainer Application forms, Quality Management modules, and online Course Bookings / Management area.
  • Work on technical tasks arising from Pen Testing, a statutory requirement.
  • Prepare the Portal for decommissioning and/or decommission some or all of the application in a controlled manner.
  • Act as a functional / technical consultant to advise the Dev Team on replacement functionality.

Essential Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in a senior development role.
  • Payment Gateway experience.
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within the team and across workstreams.
  • Experience with Agile Methodologies.
  • Proficiency in T-SQL, Azure VMs, Ext JS v 3.4, ASP.NET, C#, HTML, CSS, and Octopus Deploy.
  • Strong influencing and leadership skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Honours Degree level qualification or SCQF Level 10 equivalence.
  • Professional experience or equivalent qualifications in software development.
